It wouldn't be a three minute job and to be honest I'm not sure you could guarantee that the power supply is the issue either. It could just as easily be the main logic board or something as simple as the flat cable running to the button PCB having dropped out.I guess there is no easy way to fix this like changing a power supply.
Were it me I suspect I'd be ready to cast it out for recycling and start over at this point.
