I'm looking to buy a printer, though am legally blind but I can see enough to operate things some, or maybe have somebody help. The posts here I've so far read appear to to be for installing a CIS system, but if you search even "internally installed CISS" there are apparently a load of results with some even claimming a 1 year warranty. I gather from the posts I've read that the consensus is that Epson has the least trouble, most CISS compatible printers. So my questions are:

1. Does anybody have a vendor/model reccomendation for an already installed CISS?
2. Are there usually problems filling the ink or getting the siphon going (other than leak/pressure problems with installation/compatibility issues that have hopefully already been solved by the vendor).

Thanks for any help!!

John

Hi John

Got your email. I would love to help however location is the problem.

We install our continuous ink systems for free in the Los Angeles area. (by appointment)

If you have someone available I will walk them thru the install procedure.

I do sell a complete systems, printer with CISS, but after modifications to the printer and testing, the CISS is removed for shipping.

I would look for someone close to you, that would install a system.

Thank you

Leonard

i read on another place that epson sx405 and combo chipped ciss system works very well. there are two persons with them and they printed out 7000-8000 pages until now. but without combo chip it is very problematic. without combo button system you need to unplug and plug your empitied cartridge to reset it and this causes air to go into printhead. combo chip solves all these problems because you dont need to unplug your cartridge to reset it. pressing a button on cartridges resets all of them.

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
The "combo" chip as you call it, is indeed a much better idea than individual chips for the reasons stated... The independent chips are really only any good in a refillable cartridge system, not a CIS..
