With vaccum filling ( Freedom Method ) you seal the air vent FULLY!!! Either with the expensive device or a home made one, you then pull a vaccum with the syringe ( attached to the device ) loaded with ink, by pulling back the plunger. When you release the plunger, ink goes into the cartridge through the exit port. So you are basically filling your cart backwards in a way. You use OEM without ANY modifications to anything. You leave the original factory ball in place. There is avery long thread covering this here on this forum.
You can the and sepak with Linda ( EXT 103 ) She will lead you to the items you will need.
I would machine mine from aluminum and use sheet silicone for all the sealing parts.
All my Canon carts are OEM where I removed the factory ball and I am just using slicone plugs after top filling. I refill before I drop to empty on the ink reservoir not after it's empty.
