Having to feed paper manually, sheet-by-sheet on Canon Inkjet MG6450

That's good to hear. I can't claim credit for coming up with the solution, it was on that blog I linked to.

Having to feed paper manually, sheet-by-sheet on Canon Inkjet MG6450

I've printed about 1800 in total on mine since purchase in 2014 so on average not even 500 a year, more like 250. I am stubborn and don't like replacing hardware unless absolutely necessary. But it is not a suitable printer for bulk jobs at the best of times.

Having to feed paper manually, sheet-by-sheet on Canon Inkjet MG6450

I have found this solution works pretty well: https://chriswoods.co.uk/2019/08/canon-pixma-paper-feed-roller-problems-diy-sponge-fix/

Having to feed paper manually, sheet-by-sheet on Canon Inkjet MG6450

Does anyone find with these (or similar) printers that the paper feed is tricky? I almost always end up having to laboriously feed the paper sheet by sheet to get the roller to catch it, meaning that I can't leave the printer alone to finish a job and have to sit by it. Has anyone any solution?

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Lol. Pubs still in lockdown here (I think, I haven't been in a pub since well before the pandemic though in my misspent youth I was known to occasionally (*) venture into the odd (**) den of iniquity. * frequently ** dozens

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Ok good. I definitely haven't reset it. This allows me to calculate my cost per page. Works out at about 19c per page. Apparently not unusual for these kind of printers. When calculating my costs, I included costs of all cartridges, paper (standard A4 and photo paper), the cleaning fluid kits...

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Yet another question! Does the page count at the bottom of the nozzle check printout have any meaning? Is it the total number of pages the printer has printed since purchase?

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Thanks a lot. There is little perceptible difference in the image quality with sharpen outline on or off. It looks as though selecting 'reduce moire' makes the difference.

Sorry, was typo in previous post, I meant to say I cleaned the printhead. Link from the supplier page on ebay here: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Canon-PIXMA-MG6450-7150-Printer-Head-Cleaner-Nozzle-Printhead-Unblocker/400974647059

Cropped nozzle check above I couldn't figure out the scanner settings thing, the menu options on my PC are completely different to those in the link. The scanner artefact issue seems less in evidence though.

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Hate to disappoint you, but the new cartridges are most certainly not OEM. I refuse to pay Canon's prices on principle. I did a thorough clean of the printer cartridge while waiting for the new cartridges. I didn't use Fairy liquid, I used a bespoke liquid from a company called Printerknowledge...

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

I inadvertently deleted the one from post 34. Is the second one I posted today, post 40, not ok? I know post 39's PGBK check is problematic. Edit: oops, sorry yes I have just seen your second post. Many thanks.

Second nozzle check, after performing two standard (not deep clean) automated cleans, turning printer off and leaving it for 50 mins approx.

How often should I use a Canon inkjet to ensure nozzles don't become clogged?

Ah ok. I'm one of those people who is resistant to forking our for new hardware unless absolutely necessary. I must say the current print head is itself a refurb has given me almost a year of satisfactory performance until recently so I might go down the refurbished print head route again. Canon...
