I realize that, but I need a small printer and my printing load is light. I was also looking at the Epson WF1000 and the HP equivalent. The price is a little high for what they are.
When most people have a dead printer here, and find out that the manufacturer doesn't support it, they don't go looking for someone that can use the good parts. They immediately dump the remains and get another. I like the idea, but it won't work here.
You are saying that it's a throwaway. The printer was more like 3 years old, and it carries the name of one of the biggest companies in the business. I really don't expect this. I especially don't like it. Welcome to the real world.
Whatever part of the printer is bad, Canon doesn't sell them. Given that, I want no part of Canon from now on. End of story. Now to find a printer that is supported by its maker.
I am on my 3rd brand of printer. FIRST: Lexmark-Sounded like a bucket of bolts, worked fine. Vista came along, no driver. SECOND: HP cheapo. Worked OK, the print spooler kept jamming. They replaced it. Same thing. THIRD: Canon PIXMA iP3600. Worked fine for 3 years. It died. Bad power supply...
I have a Canon iP3600 that has a dead power supply. Guess what? Canon doesn't sell replacement parts for this unit. To say that that upsets me is an extreme understatement. I had a Lexmark printer. It sounded like a bucket of bolts, but worked fine. When I went to Vista, no driver available. I...
I have a Canon iP3600. It is now dead. It uses CL1221 cartridges. I now have 3 still sealed refilled cartridges if someone wants them. Cost of postage. I can include a set of cartridges from the machine, 2 are unused but have been installed.
PM me if anyone is interested.
