Cannon carts sound like a walk in the park, but i am sure there are gotchas unique to cannon.

Are there any gotchas with resetting empty 225/226 chips? For example epson 3880s can only be reset if above 15%.
I'll probably have parents buy OEM carts for couple rounds and when i have several sets of 225/226 chips i'll do the 220/221 conversion.

I've read reviews that some of these carts are not recognized by printer. My hope was to get 2 sets worth...
according to Amazon, as well as printer box contents, the printer uses 225/226 cartridge set (1+5). also i see refillable carts for sale here:

and a separate chip resetter here...
My parents are serious 12 o'clock flashers and they will definitely forget to check ink levels on regular bases if not prompted by printer driver. Are there any refillable cartridges for Pixima MG6220 which track ink level and require manual reset upon refill?
