just realize that all the inks they send me say PhotoColor UV Dye.
Except the "black matte" one.
This says "UltraColor Photo Pigment"
I wonder if this is why my prints look so dark.
oh bummer.
They won't work with my Canon...
Dang.
Well after spending 3 days doing extensive testing, I have concluded that the ink i have been buying http://ebay.com/itm/201362489925 is not gonna cut it.
Not only did the guy send me contaminated containers. But once I finally got that...
We've had good luck with this ink <see below image> for our purposes - i.e. for printing art for kids who just want to hang it up for a couple years -- without fading in the sun.
We've also used the typical "compatible cartridges" purchased on Amazon. They look great for 30 days but fade fast...
Maybe that's the one for me?
hah
i'll check it out.
Update on this issue though.
The whole problem seems to have an ancillary cause.
I swapped out one of the eBay inks for a genuine Canon Magenta ink, and then everything started working.
The eBay guy hypothesized that his team contaminated their...
interesting
One thing I realized is that the new Canon GI-23 colors are part of a 6-ink system.
But my Canon Pixma iX6820 is a 4-ink system.
So if I were to wait till next month when the Canon GI-23 colors come out, will they really work? e.g. is "cyan" the same "cyan" on a 4-color ink system...
hi thanks
i'm in USA
Yes i was hoping to avoid color correction, and just get something to work out of the box.
Curiously, i've bought form this guy before and never had a problem.
This Canon printer is only 1 day old so maybe that has something to do with it.
Our art is in the sun a lot so it...
Yikes sounds complicated
i think i'm too newb for profiles
I am good at photoshop though--that's where we're printing from.
I just noticed that at the Amazon link i posted, those links won't be for sale for a long time.
Could you recommend a company i could buy from today that would get me some...
oh i think i understand.
You're saying i can buy the genuine colors of cyan, magenta, yellow, and then just put these colors in my reffillable ink system.

http://amazon.com/dp/B08XZP1ZNV
http://amazon.com/dp/B08XZRNSNT
not sure. I'm a CISS noob.
I just bought them from a guy on eBay
ebay . com/itm/201362489925
this was the result below. can you recommend a better option?
I purchased this ink kit online for my brand new Canon Pixma iX6820 to do 13x19 art prints on canvas.
But the colors have an ugly hue and fail to pop like the default Canon inks.
Any suggestions for a Canon Pixma iX6820 refillable solution and inks?
thanks!
For some reason a few months ago, I swear I was looking at an Epson 13x19 printer that had stationary cartridges (like the 837 does)
Was I just imagining things...?
It's weird that it's so clear in my head, but now I go to look for it and can't find it...?
Lil help?
Thanks!

Update on this: Regarding the banding issue. http://i.imgur.com/DljWb.jpg
The banding issue seems to arise after a printing session of ~50 full color 8.5x11 pages.
Simply turning the unit off for a day, seems to cure the problem.
Of course the problem will come up each time...
wow those are some detailed instructions.
Thanks!
I did have a lot of trouble with the tube method.
Someone just recommended this printer:

http://www.inkrepublic.com/R3000.asp
r3000
its more pricey but i like how the cartridges don't move.
opinions?
Thanks
Ya i think that was my problem last time. I didn't know what a resetter was.
From what I understand, it resets the 'overfill' or something...?
Can you please provide me with a link to a place where i can get these "top fill or German fill" cartridges?
