Update on this: Regarding the banding issue. http://i.imgur.com/DljWb.jpg

The banding issue seems to arise after a printing session of ~50 full color 8.5x11 pages.

Simply turning the unit off for a day, seems to cure the problem.

Of course the problem will come up each time I run the unit for another 50 page session.

Im not sure what time nor what the print count have to do with the banding issue.

But I do know that it seems to predictably arise after 50 prints or so.
And is predictably gone the next day.

Ideas? Theories?

Thanks!

Did you raise the ciss tanks a little higher as suggested by jtoolman? Try in 0,5 cm increments.
Also, does the problem persist if you don't use the air filters and leave the little breathe holes open?

All of them! LOL
You are eventually starving a few of the nozzles due to the continuous printing. That is the banding you are seeing.
Back when I did use a CISS I use to stand it on top of a an old VHS tape so about an inch? Of course I did not ever try tp print 50 prints in a row. Just one to five or so.
So it appears that your demand for ink at the head is not being met by the ciss and it it only becomes evident after continous printing.

Check for pinching of the tubes when the scanner cover is "down". Critical.
Remove breathers.
Ensure that cartridges/dmaper/damper chambers are properly primed.

The clearances on the latest 730 and 837s are tighter than previous interations of the sibling models 710 ,810 etc and demand a perfect install. Loosely following what are on videos will no longer cut it. Good quality installs on these now require a bit of craftsmanship or experience with tools.

If the above doesn't fix it, try normal cartridges. If that doesn't fix it, then the problem is local to the printer.
