I cleaned the waste pads of my MP750 by stirring and squeezing them in a bucket with warm water and chlorine. Took 1 hour + 24 hours of drying in the summer sun. I prefer them because their are cut to the proper dimensions, however the diaper idea seems very good!
I don't seal the durchstich hole.
Whether I print dozens of full color borderless A4 covers (with a very high demand of yellow ink for red tones) or reams of duplex documents or nothing for a month, my cartrirges work perfectly.
Not printer related.
I bought an InstaPure F-8C water filter for a relative who requested a filter to reduce "as many contaminants as possible". She lives in an area where the water is not of the highest quality and she, like most people there, drinks and cooks with bottled water.
She is...

Read this post carefully to realize the advantages of the German method vs the top fill. I have exactly the same experiences with the original poster of this thread.
The most important advantage to me is that since I switched from...
I'd like to report that this is the 3rd time I've bought Canon print heads from OfficeStoreDepot and I am very satisfied with their services. They respond very quickly and their prices are unbeatable (at least as much as I could research) even including shipping costs from California to Greece...
The MG6150 or MG6250 http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/printers/1287226/canon-pixma-mg6250
They use photo gray too so it will be a long step forward if you print B/W as well.
And according to this you can modify them for CIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86ZvAyzK3jQ (I am not a CIS user. I have...

I like the fact that it's more tolerant to my inks. The old cartridges hold a very satisfying amount of ink: lots of printing, little time wasted for refilling.
I also like that it tells me the truth about the amount of remaining ink instead of a chip reading (which can read zero even if the...
I use both printers.
1. Maintenance: I can only reply in regards to waste pad cleaning since you will, sooner or later, require that. They are probably the same, somehow difficult to dismantle. But instructions can be found on the net for the MP780 while I haven't been able to find them for the...
Take a look at the following settings from your printing preferences, profiles tab:
Media Type: Plain Paper
Printing Type: Normal-size Printing
Duplex Printing: OFF
In order for your printer to use the pigmented black these settings must be the same as above.
You need to know how much you can inject in an opaque empty cartridge; this wasn't required for transparent cartridges. Once you learn and practice that, it won't be an issue.
Depends on your refill technique and the compatibility of your inks.
My suggestion is keep your printer, make a quick research on the web and youtube and buy a small refill kit. See how it works. If it works well, buy ink in higher volumes and then the cost will be drastically minimized.
If...
Labelling your syringes with a CD marker (after you clean the surface with alcohol) should also help prevent contamination.
Never hesitate to replace and dispose of ink that is giving you troubles. Trouble free printing is far more important than saving a little money.
Very easy. Thanks!
I would suggest that you stop injecting at the first sign of ink soaking the exit port. It can help avoid ink spills.
You can also avoid ink leaking from the refill hole by using a standard syringe to inject a specific amount of ink.
