Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

Agreed. And I would add another, a user factor. Not everyone uses their printer the same way in terms of light, heavy and intermittent use of the printer. Also how the user refill by which method. Is the cartridges refilled correctly or else. I also can think of a possibility in terms of ink...

Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

You are right I did not read the whole thread. I misinterpreted the post. I am sorry. George, I still remember you reported having multiple purge unit clogs from using Inktec's black pigment ink. You had a whole liter of it. But you never used Hobbicolors black pigment ink and naturally you...

Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

Just saw this thread. This looks like a printer with a clogged purge unit too. But this one uses ink from Precisioncolors. http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7904&p=1

Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

Here is another successful case from using the Hobbicolors black pigment ink, George. You did not even use the ink and you made a completely opposite conclusion about the ink.

Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

George, thanks for responding to the thread. I did follow to some extent about your test and report in the past. To be honest with you I did not and do not agree with you still today about your conclusion about Hobbicolors pigment black ink. There are others who did not agree with you either...

Purge unit clogs with Hobbicolors pigment black ink

Thanks for the advice. I am well aware of the report by ghwellsjr about InkTec black pigment ink that clogged his purge unit of his and his friend's printers. Ghwellsjr did a test of some black pigment inks including Hobbicolors then implied that the Hobbicolors black pigment ink will have the...

    Back to top refill method

Electric tape won't work. I have tried it. It will leak after a few weeks if not days. Have never used aluminum tape yet. Probably better.

    Back to top refill method

The plug will not be easy to unplug when you want to refill the cart again. The plug can fall into the cartridge and it will never come out again. Sorry, Mikling. It is not a good product in my experience.

    Back to top refill method

I have reported problems with the German method long times ago ever since I tried it. My problem was exactly like Turbguy's that I could not stop ink from coming out of the needle hole. I stuck with the good old top fill method. I have found the best plugs from Hobbicolors shown here: Sorry...

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

Pharmacist, I have been using K3 inks from Hobbicolors. Actually not just me, I am a member of a community photography club with about 100 participants. We have an Epson R3880. I ordered a set of K3 ink from Hobbicolors about 3 months ago for the club. About half of the ink (ordered 1 liter for...

Why I think a waiting period is important when working on printers.

It is very true that many advices given by this forum by members were false. Take those advices carefully. This is the nature of a discussion forum. People gave advices based on good will including false advices. I am sorry I do want to point out that the 3rd point you made here is not true. I...

Why I think a waiting period is important when working on printers.

I once was in a seminar by the CEO of an inkjet technology start up company who was a director of an HP's inkjet printer R&D group. In the seminar a brief introduction of the inkjet technology was given. A very interesting technology related this thread was introduced. Basically it was about how...

    Controlled reset with ARCs

That's very strange. Epson ink cartridges are know to contain some ink even after the printer says they are empty. There is really no reason for the printer to stop printing in the middle of printing a sheet when one of the chips registers empty. There should be enough ink to finish printing the...

    Does this company exist?

Two months and no delivery? You should not have waited for so long. Where are you located? You should have received a shipment in about a week if you are in America. Two weeks would have been the max to wait. If you did not receive a shipment in two weeks and your phone calls got you no where...

    Controlled reset with ARCs

That's not a problem. The printer never stops in the middle of printing a sheet of print. It may stop before all the sheets are printed. When that happens I just pull the cartridge and put it right back in. The printer will do a priming cycle then it will finish printing all remaining sheets...

My OCP K3 inks have finally arrived.

It has been a while and I thought I should follow up with some report back in here. So far I have been completely satisfied with the cheap refillable cartridges from ebay and the K3 ink set acquired through Hobbicolors. The only complaint I have is the slow printing speed of Epson R2880. The ink...

    Controlled reset with ARCs

I bought a set of cheap made in China refillable cartridges with ARC chips for Epson R2880. The cartridges have worked great so far. The ARC will reset automatically only when the printer detects empty and you pulled it out to refill and reinstall it back in. What I do is when a cartridge is...
