Im useing 20gauge needles that were blunt but I sharpend one edge by holding against the side of a grinding wheel. This sharpened them to a very sharp point just like the ones the medical industry uses. Are you guys that old that you are having muscle problems with your hands. Yikes Im 70 and...
For you guys having trouble with the german method and ink coming out the refill hole. Keep in mind that the vent on the top of cartridge must be kept open and clear. When you are injecting ink into the cartridge the displaced air must have place to go. If the vent is blocked then in effect...
Thanx for everybodys answers to this problem.
I will say that the chips are Canon OEM probably about 1-2 years old. So I think that would make them resetable.
I will have to go along with the possibility that the resetter is the problem. I will admit I have a hard time sometimes trying to get...
So is it possible that the chip would send a bad signal because it is in the wrong slot and this signal makes it all the way to the logic board and the board trys to use it and when it cannot it sends back a signal that blows the chip.?? Im just at a loss here as to why only the magenta...
Maybe Im not being clear here. I have other magenta carts that have been reset and Im using them in my printer with no problems. So I dont think it is my resetter that is the problem. Again it seems peculiar that its ownly been the magenta chips that have blown. Im thinking the printer is...
I refill these carts for myself and 3 other friends. I reset all these carts. before I refill them. Recently one person has returned to me the magenta cartridge only, to say that her printer will not recognize it and then she gets the alarm. She has a MX870 printer. When I checked the cart in...
Ok I have done an inspection of my refilled carts that have been sitting on my shelf for quite some time. I guess I would have to say covering the vent on these carts. would be a waste of time. I found all the outlet ports were still wet and when I weighed them they were well within what I had...
I agree with fotofreek. I have over 40 carts refilled and ready to go on my shelf now.
I now have decided to refill as I need them. I can refill a whole set in a few minutes so there is no point in keeping these extras just sitting on the shelf waiting for something to happen with them.
Sorry didnt mean to confuse you, I dont think it is necessary either. But after you pointed out that they come sealed top and bottom and shrinkwrapped I just threw that out there. Its been quite a while since I bought a new cart so I forgot the vent is sealed. If I can see any evaporation...
I dough know ghwellsjr. Sounds a little like you are talking in circles there. First you get a good seal on the outlet port than you dont get a good seal on it. I think you leave us wondering what a good seal is?? I have over 8 sets of refilled carts (40+) sitting on my shelf right now and...
Once agian Joseph I think you are thinking to hard and just bringing up a subject that has aleady been discussed and discussed again. I do however admire your want to keep posting your findings to keep us all up to date on the projects you are working on. Please keep up the good work. Im sure...
For now there isnt much going on in the art of refilling so I believe these guys are just trying to stay in contact with each other in case somebody comes up with another subject really worth putting some time into. Basicly we're all here to promote economical refilling and to keep our canon...
I believe the carts were leaking because of the way they were handled in delivering them to me. I dont think there should be any ink in the labyrinth. The holes in the labyrinth appear to be to small for ink passage. I believe they are just air passages. The large whole over the sponge...
Ok Peter BJ here you go:
I have sectioned (1) G&G cart. which is a generic CLI-8. I tried to clean it up best I could but Im afraid the pics arent too good. This cart. seems to be a lot more intricate than the real Canon item. It has several chambers and also two labyrinth passages which are on...
Will do!!! I actually think they meant to say the sponge is smaller. I cant see how a cart could work without some sort of feature to slow the flow of ink. A sealed cart with just some sort of vent would not be enough to slow the flow of ink. Ill try and get into this next week.
I can understand what you are saying about Canon keeping their patents for themselves but how come the large black G&G cartridge appears to look exactly the same as the Canon? Is there some mini difference inside that lets them get away with this.???
After reaading all your advice guys I have decided to toss the carts. I am going to keep one just to experiment with. Plan on flushing it first and experiment filling with water to see how the extra chamber works. I now understand the idea behind the smaller sponge as it will hold a lessor...
