When shopping internationally you may find offers in the U.S. with a restriction 'domestic shipments only' or 'local sales only'. This could make a deal impossible for any non-resident buyer, and I'm not just thinking about the special Pro-100 deals. There are shipping/service companies offering a way around this dilemma
like https://www.shipito.com/en/ or http://www.borderlinx.com/GB/en/
I haven't tested any of these yet but user reports are posted on the internet, and it is not clear to me how a company rebate would work - are they mailing a cheque ? Where ?

I'm going to add this one here as well : https://www.mymallbox.com/
I've already tried it and it works fine, not too expensive either. The reason I ordered something through them is because the shipping cost they provide was a lot cheaper than the shop where I ordered things from.

When I bought my 3D printer from the US, the company offered me a total price for the goods including shipping, custom & excise charges at an all-in-one price, believe it or not it was far cheaper than me paying the charges when it arrived...

A bargain at just under $300 ... http://amzn.to/2quJYRm

Businesses that frequently mail items can negotiate better rates with carrier services.

For instance, eBay can provide shipping labels for the preferred package carrier of the seller/buyer. All the seller has to do is print the label, affix it to the package and then get the item to the carrier. eBay gets a reduced rate and, according to a friend, they pass a small amount as savings to the seller. However, eBay also charges you a percentage of the shipping charges, eBay makes money coming and going.

@The Hat - Amazon supposedly gets a $1.46 subsidy here from the US government for every box shipped. In other words, millions of Americans who do not use Amazon are paying taxes to subsidize it.

A company Viabox https://www.viabox.com/ is listing some competitive information, they claim to be the one not incurring and charging local sales tax on your orders.

It’s nice to know that some companies in the US care enough to give us foreigners a good discount and allow the good citizens of the United States to pay for it... :hugs

Then you'll be ecstatic to know the big dollar deal Amazon and the CIA struck:

"This summer, a $600 million computing cloud developed by Amazon Web Services for the Central Intelligence Agency over the past year will begin servicing all 17 agencies that make up the intelligence community."

https://www.theatlantic.com/technol...tails-about-the-cias-deal-with-amazon/374632/

Think of all the foreigners the CIA and Amazon can help more efficiently now.

Sounds like a win-win as the saying goes. Amazon makes the big bucks, and Ivanka Trump can now market her jewellry with the help of the CIA and Amazon fulfillment. ;)

However, on a more prosaic note and based on the quoted text in the OP.

I find it hard to believe that even Jef Bezos' hard driving Amazon can negotiate a contract, plan and inplement a 600 million dollar high tech project all within one year. Especially with the secretive, diverse and faction ridden CIA. My BS meter is on high alert.

Anyone who has had dealings with any Government bureaucracies would be somewhat suspicious of the veracity of this report.

My 2 cents - and subjet to revision or change of mind! :)
