Anyone know how to set the IP to a static rather than DHCP on this printer? Been through the setup a few times but it only asks me which router to connect to and the passphrase then off it goes and assigns a DHCP IP! Bit daft for a network printer!!

On the WF 4540 I use the printer panel screen and go to "tools" - "WiFi/Network settings" - "Manuel WiFi/Network setup" - choose "auto" or "manual" then answer the questions. When I first setup this printer, plugged in the Ethernet and power cord it booted fully configured on my LAN recognized by my workstations. I did not see a way to make these changes from the printers web interface so I choose to assign a fixed IP from my router using the printer MAC.

Thanks, as this printer has no panel then I'm going to have to do a reserved DHCP IP in the router as suggested.

For those who didn't know, I've found a utility - EpsonNet Config which allows you to change ALL the settings on this printer!!

I just took a look at EpsonNet Config and found it doesn't display the DHCP/IP info correctly. On start up, it finds my printer and displays the correct IP but within the program shows 192.168.192.168, correct netmask but default gateway as 255.255.255.255. The printer connects by Ethernet and works well with all wired and wireless devices. The printer web interface displays accurate information.

Has anyone used this utility to set static IP? I prefer static IP but figure if it isn't broken, why fix it.

It works fine for me? Not wishing to teach granny to suck eggs but here is how I did it --

Launch EpsonNet Config
Your printer should appear in the list, highlight it and then select Configuration at the top.
It should then show a screen saying something like 'Retrieving settings' then a screen will appear with a whole list of options down the left hand side.
Go to the TCP/IP setting and click on Basic
You should see it is set to Automatic. Change this to Manual and you can enter the IP, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. The select the Transmit button and it will send the settings to the printer.
I am doing this on a wifi connected laptop BTW.

Human error. I had both Ethernet and wireless active. Both share the same MAC address and neither printer or router complained. The disable wireless screen was past where I had gone on setup. Everything worked and I looked no further.

I disabled printer wireless and all settings display properly on every screen now. All printer data is over Ethernet. So the utility fixed things even before I use it as intended. Someday I may even read the manual. Thanks!

Puzzled now because AFAIK the XP-215 has NO ethernet port? Just USB or Wifi.
