The printheads I lost on the 9500 were electronically damaged (the typical half of a nozzle check bar missing), never had a B200 error.I thought of that too, although I've had in the past problems with dirty contacts and no error B200 happened.
You may have a point with the maximum number of errors theory but, again, Canon only knows and they won't tell us.
Dirty cartridge contacts is a common error, but indeed I never saw a B200 either.
Canon says nowhere this is only due to the printhead.
Even if it is printhead related (as it probably is), it could be somewhere in the contacts/cabling/switches.
