Ouch, Yesterday my Pro10s gave me a nasty B200 error message when trying to print something. I turned off the machine with the front button and then I disconnected the cable from the power outlet for 10-15minutes. Reconnect, switch on and back to normal.. for a while, because today I started printing normally and then suddenly ..B200 again !.
Same procedure as before and the printer works now normally, for the time being.
Anyway, two B200 errors in two days are an ominous warning. Printhead dying ?, That would be weird because nozzle checks have been perfect for a long time and so are the printed jobs.
Who knows?. The Pro10s isn’t as troublesome as the Pro-1 but they’re cousins.
I have a new spare printhead in reserve, but I’d much prefer to keep using this one as long as possible. Fingers crossed !.
Just for the record, I recall now that the first B200 error happened shortly after I replaced all the carts, when one of them was declared empty.
Among the spare set which replaced the first one, the cyan cart failed to be recognized after I closed the lid. When that happens I know that 95% of the times it’s because of dirty or partially oxidized chip contacts. I’ve been using these two sets of Pro10s carts for more than three years and no wonder that the chip contacts of some of them are already quite worn and tarnished.
Cleaning the contacts with IPA and/or rubbing them with a narrow strip of sanding paper usually fixes the problem and so it did this time. I was able to print normally a nozzle check and a couple of pages .. before the first B200 error popped in.
