To repeat my good advice: Don't use refillables. Use only Epson ink cartridges.

I don't know anything about the newer printer.

Did the TS actually prime these cartridges before installing these cartridges? If not: a large compartment with air will be pushed into the tubing system and alot of cleaning is necessary to remove the air, before any ink will be fired from the nozzles.
