Hold the Windows key?? :hu

Thanks, I have been experimenting and generated windows all over the place, but I'm not sure they are all under control yet.:)

As I indicated before:
Microsoft thinks all users are idiots and implemented many "helps" so that users could have others remotely evaluate and fix their systems!
It doesn't matter which system you have it has always been full of holes and will always be.
I have installed a Linux OS

I am having difficulty getting Win 7 to display C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\..........profiles,
System32 level does not readily display "spool", you can sometimes force it and it does display spool and subsequent levels, but initially it does not show it exists. This is despite having set all the folder permissions to show all.

Win 7 seems very reluctant to give up control of everything it allows you to do! Unlike XP!

Win 7 can be a pain in the ass till you get used to it but that’s what makes it much safer than XP !

Have you check the Show hidden files, folders, and Drives..

Yes, I have selected "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and I have unchecked "Hide empty drives..." and unchecked "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended). But it disregards my choices. It sometimes is reluctant to acknowledge that I'm the Administrator as well!! I think I would rather be unsafe with XP!

I think I would rather be unsafe with XP!

About 6 mo ago my wife got a computer with windows 7 installed.
I noted that before anything extra was added that 12 GB was used
(3 or 4 times the amount required when XP was new)

About 2 weeks later I started installing updates, 167 updates, 98 were “security”.
This did not give me a warm feeling about the overall security of windows 7
( with such an over bloated OS it could be expected )

I went looking for a better substitute for my XP computer and after study Installed Lubuntu (a linux based OS) as a dual boot with windows XP
I now use Linux for any online work.
I do agree that XP is not very secure however the biggest problem is IE (as I guess everyone knows by now)
I had previously posted things that should help security issues!

I am sure that ' chicken little’ will disagree with everything I’ve posted here but thats also to be expected (the sky is falling).

By the way Lubuntu is free.
