Windows XP and Canon Maxify?

Why you’d ever want to use XP is beyond me, but the Maxify will run on Vista 2 so it should support XP 64…

You may need to be more specific about the model number, but the Maxify MB2120 will run on XP according to the disclaimer at the bottom of the Canon web page.
It looks like at least some of the bonus software will NOT run on XP.

Checking further, the Specifications page for this printer does NOT list Windows XP as a compatible OS:
Maybe call Canon Sales and ask them directly on the model number you are interested.

I have just checked the Maxify models on the Canon USA site. It looks like some models support Win XP. The models MB2020, MB2320, MB5020, MB5320 and IB4020 all support Win XP. The models MB2120, MB2720, MB5120, MB5420 and IB4120 don't support Win XP.
Maybe @palombian means the you might need to add the cost of a Win 10 computer to the cost of the printer?

In my experience WIN10 runs very well on computers from the XP age - better than XP itself, as long as there is enough memory (4Gb, 6GB is very nice).
And a small and cheap SSD.
Nearly all XP software (and hardware) runs on WIN10, nearly nothing today on XP.
When you would have upgraded via Win7 and 8 you would have WIN10 now at a very low cost.

I have got a 3 GHz P4 computer with 2GB RAM from the Win XP era. I have tried installing W 10 32 bit on it. It worked but it was a bit quicker with Win XP. In my opinion a typical computer of the XP era is not quite strong enough to work well with Win 10, maybe the problem is the amount of RAM.
I have upgraded 2 laptops and one desktop from Win 7 to Win 10 in December last year. The upgrade was free. I don't know if you can still upgrade to Win 10 to from Win 7 for free, now that Win 7 has expired?
If the free upgrade offer is still valid then maybe a Win 7 can be found very cheaply or for free. You can also install to a formatted harddisk, you only need a valid Win 7 key.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the Maxify printers I was thinking of were the 2720 or the 5120, so I'll have to reconsider and look closely at the driver match ups.
My 3rd gen i7 computer can handle most OSes, but I wouldn't use Windows 10 even if I was given a free copy. So that's not going to be an issue. The only reason I upgraded to WinXP (from Win2000) was that I had one program that needed it. I currently don't have that problem as I usually prefer legacy versions of most programs.

XP no longer has mainstream Microsoft updates for 5 years now, so, this computer should not be connected to the internet, whether directly or via a LAN, nor should it be used wirelessly if you value security. Consider it ripe for the picking by a hacker.
