I saw this offer from Aldi Denmark: http://www.aldi.dk/aldi_tradlos_windows_8_mus_48_5_3925_12310.html or a Google translation: http://translate.google.dk/translat...os_windows_8_mus_48_5_3925_12310.html&act=url . Replacing "mice" with "mouse" and "delicious" with "nice" makes the translation fairly accurate. 149 DKK = 20 = 27 $

I just got a Windows 8 computer and wonder if this is worth trying? The Metro UI is not very mouse and keyboard friendly, could a new mouse really change that?

Luckily you can add a start button to the desktop UI and have the old Windows functionality back.

Win 8 works just the same with a wireless mouse as Win7 does;
were currently using a Logitech wireless mouse on Win 8. :weee

The new Win 8.1 Update will address the Start-up button blues.. :clap

I was wondering if the extra buttons adds some new functionality to the Metro UI, like an easy way of closing an app?

From this post by stratman : http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=66800#p66800 , sadly the reintroduced start button in Win 8.1 will only toggle between the Metro and desktop UI. No classic start menu will be available :( Hopefully the "Classic shell" will still work in Win 8.1

Are you using the Metro UI or do you use the desktop UI probably with a start button added?

I think I will have to take a look at the package, Maybe the info is there or I can find a type number. The brand is AGK, I think they have much or all of their stuff produced in China and their brand attached. But if it is just another mouse, I don't need it. I will check my local Aldi and see what I can find out.

Some months ago I gave my wife a new computer and its equipped with W8.
She missed the start button too, so I installed a little tool called startisback
http://www.startisback.com/
Now were satisfied with the new PC.:)

About the mouse: Some years ago I got a free wireless mouse with my laptop. Working with it wasnt pleasant, because I had to exchange the batteries every day. Even with rechargeable batteries that is a nuisance. So I prefer a mouse with a tail :/

Thanks for the link to "startisback" It looks like a good solution. I specially like the possibility of totally separating the two start up screens, and the program is very affordable, 3$ for 2 licenses and 5$ for 5 licenses :)

I also prefer the traditional wired mouse. I haven't found info about the Aldi mouse yet, but if I find it I will post it, maybe even buy and test the mouse.

I've been using Classic Shell to make Windows 8 look like 7 again.

I don't like that Explorer now has a Ribbon like Office and no File/Edit menu so moving files around is a pain for anyone used to the other way. I think I'll be getting a used system with 7 to use at home.
