Guys, for those of you with a laptop... just a headsup that Windows 11 is not a battery friendly OS for now. It is draining batery life 30%~40% faster than Windows 10.

I have Office 2013 now, not officially supported in WIN11, but this doesn't mean it won't work.

Since my 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD is getting old (although at 33TB written not even at half of the expected endurance) and a much faster 500GB 980 M.2 NVME is only € 59, I plan to test a WIN11 upgrade this way.

I hope my Colormunki/i1Studio will continue to work, since X-Rite seems having sold this to another company and there is no official WIN11 support.

As long as I have a small business activity I could pass an Office 2019 upgrade as a cost, maybe waiting too long is not such a good idea either.

Calibrite now owns certain X-rite devices and sell the exact same products now with Calibrite branding. As part of the sale agreement, Calibrite will continue to support X-rite branded products under warranty. Calibrite also rebranded the software and added a couple superficial changes that have zero effect on function from what I've read.

Pre-release Windows 11 had some issues with X-rite/Calibrite software function. (or is that vice versa?)

Hang in there.

I recall reading somewhere that upgrading from Win-10 to Win-11 is only possible if your Windows 10 is updated to the latest version ?
If so, right now my computer isn't eligible. For some unknown reason, I'm stuck at Win10 v1903.
Everytime that Windows update tries to install version 20H2, the process starts correctly but it freezes when it's at 61%. Windows keeps working normally but the update service simply stops. No error message or explanation of the problem is given ( just what you might expect from Microsoft).

Hey, I have one more reason to stay with Win 10. :p

I would say that M/S own apps will be fairly safe, but a lot of others may have some issues, its more so hardware peripherals that might well suffer the most and have the biggest problems, older cameras, scanners and their Apps..

Most real old printers should be covered by generic M/S driver, my 25 year old brother laser printer works well under Win 8.1 with a generic driver, and so does the nearly as old Samsung laser.. the iP4500 just plods along and goes unnoticed..

News (?) on calibration software and Windows 11.

Found an X-Rite calibration software chart on the various Windows versions including Windows 11. I don't know how old the page and it may not be kept updated.

https://www.xrite.com/page/windows11

The Calibrite web site, which now sells and warranty services former X-Rite devices, as well as provides the software, does not to be significantly different, if any at all, since checked 10/25/2021.

Apparently no new info indeed, but I read it as there are only some small issues left on particular hardware and that they don't expect problems.
