@CakeHole thank you for your short and sharp response, I’m glad I didn’t opt for the long version, but when a company is making so much money do you really think they care about the end user, could you see yourself using MAC O/S.. :caf :idunno

As last resort, only if Mac O/S supports my stash of old printers!

The response wasn't meant to come across as sharp but just point out some of MS claims are utter nonsense, they will say anything to hope people upgrade.
As to MAC OS no i wouldn't use that, i had enough pretty bimbos when i was younger :D (thats a joke before MAC users get upset or quote from the book of steve to try and convert me ;) ).

PS: @The Hat i was one year old here the other day so like any one year old ive got to do a bit of screaming, i blame the new teeth wanting to come through, wheres the Calpol :D

Perhaps it is just me being cautious, but having just received the latest email update on Win 10, I can't help feeling uneasy that we may be on a roller coaster, that gets out of control through sheer complexity.

As long as my applications work as they should, I am happy to stay with the same old version of Windows and not have to learn new tricks! I am afraid that is the way you get in your 80's.

Trying to decide if those are just candles or an alternative way to finish cooking the cake ;)

I thought it was my birthday cake.

Also like to think that behavior pattern is called experience, AKA "common sense" and the like. Or as the old saying goes, "All that glitters is not gold."

Now I will go and get my 3 month old camera with the big new lens out of the trunk of my 8 year old car.

Most people don't even realize todays x86/x64 computers are manifold faster in both integer, floating point and 3D accelerated graphics calculations compared to the 25K costing Silicon Graphics and Sun Sparc workstations from 20 years ago. In those days most were very happy with a very fast 486DX2-66 MHz machine equipped with 16 MB RAM and 400 MB HDD, whow and those Silicon Graphics and Sun Sparc workstations are for the very happy few working at the University. For less than $1000 you can buy nowadays a machine that is at least 10-times faster than those workstations 20 years ago, that cost 25K or more.
