I got a notification on my printer that there is a new firmware available.

1. Is it possible to manually download the firmware and install it?
2. Is there a change log somewhere for it?
3. Is it safe to install? I.e. it won't block refillable cartridges or cause other printing issues.
4. Is there a way to stop the nagging if I don't want to install it?

Thanks!

Why would you want a newer firmware when the existing one is working perfectly, you should leave well enough alone, and don’t invite trouble..

99.5% of the time newer firmware are issued for the manufacturer and not the user..

Fair enough. How can I stop the nagging then?

I didn't permit them nagging me when installing the printer.

What do you mean? I don't recall any settings about firmware updates when I installed the printer. Does anyone know how to stop the reminders?

I remember you could choose some options about connectivity when installing the printer. Anyway I don't receive those messages. But is is possible the procedure has changed in later models.
The convention on this forum is never do upgrades unless you need to.
No idea how to stop them.
Maybe blocking the connection in your router ?

I have never got any annoying messages about firmware upgrades, but if I could stop the Feckin Fax from re-installing I’d be more than happy, I went into the settings and deleted everything but a week later it came back..

So I wish you luck on that one..
