Where to buy bulk ink in the UK?

I have always bought ink from Hobbicolors in the States. However with the weak pound and customs charges ( I was hit with a 12 customs & P.O charge last time I ordered) I wondered if anyone had any alternatives to Hobbicolors in the UK. Ebay offers alternatives but they look like cheap Chinese imports.

Thanks, looks interesting. How do print outs compare with Canon oem ink?

There is a slight drop in quality from canon inks, but youd have to look very hard to see that and only on some types of materials. About (5%) most of the time there is no difference..

The problem with OctoInk, CityInkExpress and every other UK supplier I have looked at, is that they don't sell Pigment Black for Canon PGI-8 and PGI-520 cartridges. Every UK ink supplier expects you to fill PGI cartridges with dye ink.

It strikes me as perverse to buy a Canon printer with 5 carts, with two distinct types of black, and then refill both blacks with the same type of ink.

Hobbicolor have a pigment black as do precisioncolors.

I do know that they ship to the UK I hope this helps

Actually my big problem is that my current stock of Canon inks are over 6 months old so I've avoided putting them on sale because they won't be at their best.

I am getting fresh stocks of Image Specialist Canon (and HP) inks in shortly although that may not be ideal as it's going to take a week or so.

Anyway, commercial stuff aside, I agree wholeheartedly that you don't want dyebase ink when it's a pigment cartridge/printer and vice versa (with the exception of the HP88 pigment black which I actively encourage using dye with instead).
