Just as an update...
I've spent some of the weekend burning my fingers on hot glue and building a stock of version #2 flush clips that are all working considerably better than the earlier Poly' Prop' fitting type.
The same has been applied to all the PGI-9, CLI-8 and other clips so it's all new kit from here on out.
