What new inkjet printer is easiest to refill?

Just wondering... if I was to recommend a printer to buy for someone... that would be easy to refill...
What should I recommend?

In the past (many years ago), I would have recommended Canon.
But don't know anymore.

Epson Ecotank printers ET..... come with a tank system , very easy to refill, Canon has some similar models with their G-series

Try the Canon Maxify printer for size.. it's as good as a laser printers..

I'd second the G-Series MegaTank printers - If they're looking for auto duplex, GM2050, GM4050 (both black-only printers but allow the use of 541 and 541XL cartridges for colour), G5050, G6050 and the G7050.

Both Epson and Canon, you can just refill with non manufacturer inks?
Don't they have some evil way of detecting it's the wrong ink or something?

I know someone who had an Epson - they spent like £450...
Nothing but trouble since day 0.

The Epson or Canon inks are priced that low that you don't need to look for alternative inks, you are not replacing cartridges , there are no chips - you just take the bottle and let the ink run into the ink tank of the printer, and you are already getting a significant ink supply with the printer itself - in the range of 7 - 10x more than what set up cartridges would carry.

Canon might use some chemical tricks like the "Yello Gello" special dye ink used in CLI-42Y, CLI-x51 Y and probably newer cartridges. See this post and the following post.

Nothing but trouble since day 0.

No issues with the G3500, G4511, or G6050. Though with just a button interface, the G3500 was always a pain to run maintenance on - having to press and hold a button, count flashes etc. . .
Regarding the Epson. . . some of that down to the enclosed print head there, the MegaTanks are replaceable print heads. The G6050, G5050 and GM's are easier to work with.
That said, on the store.canon.co.uk, a full set of ink for the G6050, G5050 is about £38.something (57P or thereabouts). . .

Possibly, but given that the genuine inks are as economical, ther's little advantage for getting a cheaper alternative, the'yve not gone down the route of putting funny 'keys' arounf the ink tanks and bottles like Epson. . .

The blood sucking animals that used to make money from poor people buying expensive ink and using on a cheap printer??

G2510 printer - that looks to be the cheapest.
Is it any good?
How reliable are they?
How long do the print heads last for example? Somewhere I saw the printer with 2 year warranty, but the print head only with 1 year warranty.

Normally, I need an ADF, but I have this on my laser, so would consider this printer just for printing.
