Firstly, if you have one of these machines that you can’t reset the ink counter yourself, and wish to continue to use it and have accepted the fact that you must send it back to Canon for Servicing. !
When you fit the Potty you then can control how much ink that goes into the waste pads, but you might say “How”.
Well the Potty acts very much like an ink Monitoring system you can see clearly when your printer does a cleaning cycle and how much ink it wastes and how option it does that.
By monitoring these maintenance cycles, you can better plan the timing of your printing and nozzle checks, this can avoid a lot of the unnecessary cleaning cycles that occur, because you simply weren’t aware you could do something about it.
You can explain you don’t need the waste ink cartridge (Pads) changed, because you have fitted an external waste tank and that will only leave the purge unit and wiper box to be serviced.
But one of the best thing about having a Potty fitted is that your Service costs will be a lot lower because the Agents won’t have to replace the waste ink pads because the waste ink has been diverted into the Potty.
The EPROM chip can be reprogramed and they can replace the battery if one is fitted, plus reset the waste ink counter, all without pulling the whole printer apart, the costs to you will be reduced considerably.
Even if you don’t send your printer in for servicing, it’s nice to know you can save on ink because you can tell when the printer is warming up or just wasting the ink, it’s on the same ink saving principal as changing all your carts out when one is showing low.
Think about it for a minute...
