Refilling using German method: what do you do when bottle of refill ink is nearly finished?

Instructions and guides: all show how to refill with the ink bottle vertical

Problem: when ink is nearly finished, you have to hold the ink upside down!

Doing this is difficult when trying to get 80% full (if you believe in not filling up to the top)
It's really hard to judge the level

+ From experience I have found it's more fiddly

What does everyone else do?

One possible solution: mix with new replacement bottle?
Is this advisable?

Thanks

One suggestion for you to consider is to use a longer needle and another
is to just dump the bottle and just get a new one.. :thumbsup

thanks for the reply. i don't think it's as simple as that.
i start having the problem when the bottle still has a 1/3rd ink left
then gradually i have to increase the angle at which i hold the bottle more and more

are u telling me that u don't have the same problem??

The easiest way to dispose of the ink without pouring toxic material into the sewer system is just to drink it.

Or tip the bottle. Or pour it temporarily into a smaller container.

If it looks like the remaining ink is less than would overfill the cart, pour it into a shallow container to have access with the syringe needle. You can then add more ink from the new bottle to complete the refill if you need to. This mixing depends on your using the exact same product in the old and new bottles.

I use squeeze bottles. When the bottle is almost empty and I've purchased a new supply I usually take this opportunity to wash out the squeeze bottle and needle with tap water and drying them before refilling with the new ink. This is also the time when I'll purge the carts if they've been filled lots of times over two years.

@ThrillaMozilla: u aint going to fool me with that one. i'll never drink the ink. u is really clever and witty :p
lol

the answer i was hoping i would get is: don't worry! just turn the bottle upside down and fill in ink or just go ahead and mix all u like, it won't do u any harm

i'd be wasting probably about 3/4 refills of the big fat black cart and probably double the slimmer ones
doesn't make sense to me

The easiest way is to pour the ink in the cap of the very same bottle, suck out the ink with your syringe and repeat if necessary.
