- Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
Dunno how many of you noted my repeated head to wall applications of late when it came to the Canon and HP CIS kits I was trying to create... Well one of the things I had a crack at was a bag system with a self closing valve that would "revolutionise" my approach to refilling, mess, etc...
Unfortunately there were a few problems such as:
1. the valve only shuts on one side of the connection so if you have any ink in the tube side, you get a mess if you don't use a clamp before disconnecting.
2. the valve occasionally failed to perform properly (this was later tracked down to over tightening of the connector it was glued onto)
3. the bag needed to be kept tilted towards the valve to ensure ink flowed towards the tube
4. you needed a container to hold everything in the right place
5. it wasn't overly user friendly thanks to the above
... so it was when I was singing a particularly bad melody in the shower that I suddenly had a brain wave and realised that ok, so it was crap as a reservoir but perfect as a waste ink bag/tank for stuff like my old Epson D88 which has sat unused for ages. Genius!
So, I now have something else sitting on ebay for happy punters to was.... *cough*... I mean, spend their hard earned cash on. Actually on that point, I found an ebay listing that's using a thin, high rigid container as the tank and they've got the tubing reaching at least 10cm height which is way over the printhead level. I dread to think how many people have bought that thing and managed to flood or soil the base of their printhead..
