All of them! LOL
I still would love to know what other utility was run besides the waste ink counters reset utility!
I run these utilities on my Epson printer when needed and have never experienced these problems.

I will tell you happened exactly

1) I downloaded the WICReset program from their site, then they sent me the code for ink pad reset
2) They sent me a steps then I followed it
3) after applying the code told me to reset, so I did
4) the printer passed the ink pad error message and did clean cycles then the screen became black and the blue light flashed and the printer restarted
5) then it gave me message that it will reset the firmware and there is only one choice icon for OK (no cancel icon)
6) after restart asked for the date and time configuration then it gave me the ink carts error
7) i contacted the 2manuals.com customer services and for 3 hours of connecting ports and USB redirect port he told me that the printer counters reseted to ZERO for all (like brand new)
8) he told me he has artisam 810 firmware and eeprom but not for artisan 835, I told him they are the same, so he tried to upload the firmware for 810 and after that he told me to restart hte printer
9) after restart it is the same and still read as 835, so he told me I need the firmware and eeprom for artisan itself and to be installed manually

that is all

Maybe websnail can comment as he knows a lot about WICReset and the possibilities.

friends, do you have any idea from where can I buy chip set for PX820 to replace the one for my CISS.
also please if I want to buy another printer but only Canon (I hate Epson due to many troubles) and to be All in one, which model you advice me? and do you advice me to but separate scanner plus photo printer or all in one?

I'll be honest this is a new one on me as well... The WICReset tool is only intended to reset the waste ink counter and should not be resetting the firmware to a different model at all.

There are some niggles that usually relate to the way the printer requires a set of cartridges that can handle a priming routine and because the printer is expecting new/full OEM carts it produces a "General Error" about the cartridges not being recognised. In this instance however it seems something else is afoot.

As noted already, if indeed the printer had somehow reset itself to a PX820FWD then it would be possible to source a replacement set of ARC's or refillable cartridges to resolve the issue. Trying to get hold of the actual firmware would be more than a little difficult unless you can find an Epson service tech willing to help with the correct service tools to make that possible.

I'll make some enquiries my end but as I said I've not come across this myself and tend to see more of the priming issue as described above.

Can you take a picture of your CIS and, in particular, the cartridge/chip block so I can check if what I have here will be physically compatible...

Right... I checked in with WICReset and now have a bit of a clearer understanding of what might have happened.

The WICReset also has a few functions that allow some printers to be changed to a different model printer type so it would appear that somehow these functions were triggered.

However I've certainly not come across anyone who has managed this without actually clicking the relevant functions themselves or had an errant pet cat, etc "help" them.
