Hello 3Dogs:
Nice to read that you got an excellent chip resetter.
However the information about where to order is for me impossible to understand:
"The new resetter offered by 1214453# ^, is FANTASTIC, I just reset 9 of my 3880 carts dated ""/$&/€×¥4 AND a FULL set dated @"/$!/€×¥4. I bought it off Christopher Robin via Hephalump @ e_or"

Could you please be so kind as to let me have a site or e-mail address where I can order this resetter.
Could you also please show us a photo and perhaps let us have manufacturer name and product type number.
Thank you on beforehand for the information!

He was just trying to be funny!
I will let you know by the end of next week about whether the resetter I just ordered also works on all colors. According to a friend, it does. SO just hang in there a few more days.

More satire than joke.
We, all posters accross all forums are going to have to get a bit smarter dont you think. We are posting heaps of information on our efforts to work around anti-refilling tactics by the OEM's and shooting ourselves in the foot at the same time.

Its fine and dandy to work out how to reuse the 3800 OEM's and source a resetter that works, but the only vehicle we use at the moment is a forum that is open and available to ROBOTS.

There are a number of sites that require robot defeating code input to gain access. I assume dpreview is an openly manufacturers forum, in that it relies commercialy on support for all or a lot of the photography manufacturers to continue operating.

My point is this, as long as we trumpet our refill moves, the printer manufacturers have early, detailed intel as to how to defeat us, how stupid of us!!!!!

IMHO the post was VERY helpful, even if all it does is spark the awareness that what measures Printer manufacturers take to thwart us we are bringing down on our own heads,

If I were the boss of development at a printer manufacturer, I would ask one of the employees to monitor the printer forums. I wouldn't rely on a robot.

This is passive intelligence gathering. Active intelligence gathering would be to ask the employee to join the forum to ask questions and actually give good advice taking care not to give away secrets.

I wonder if some are actually spying?

You'll totally disrupt the site if you go on, no one will trust anyone.
There must be five or six of "you" out there, one for each different printer manufacturer. How much do you get paid?

That will not happen, trust and those sorts of things are NOT at stake here, now or ever

Its a conundrum for sure, but one that is about good and evil. Sadly the World we live in now, is split right down the middle, and which is which is just so elusive.......for me the people who manufacture our toys are good when they build me a 3880, and evil when they charge me A$900 for 810ml of ink, they are REALLY evil in my eyes when they sell a printer for A$99 then A$30 a set for 36ml of ink into the HUGE consumer segment.

If this was posted in DPR there would be people lining up to bucket me and evangalising the manufacturers, citing their annual profit reports.....:lol::lol:
