After my issues with my 1430 I'm wondering if one possible contributing factor is how often the refillable cartridges are removed and put back in. Not only when they are empty, but often after exchanging one another will show as not recognized - apparently due to the master-slave configuration of the v6.3 ARC chips. Those chips also are not manually re-settable,so you have many repeated ink charging cycles often one right after another.
Is it possible instead to buy a CISS cartridge and rather than running tubes just refill it in situ with a syringe with the advantage of being able to reset all the carts with the press of one button? Aside from having to remove the cover to the carrier to accommodate the taller cartridge is there any reason not to do this?
Thanks
