topping up PGI-72 with OEM?

After trying Octoinkjet inks for a while, I found them lacking in vibrancy and brilliance compared to OEM, which is why I am now considering switching back. To minimize wasting ink I would like to stick to the "swap all at once" approach. Are there any larger OEM cartridges that use the same ink? Or would I need to harvest ink from other PGI-72 cartridges?

Yes there are, you can extract ink from The Pro 1, and Pro 1000 or the bigger carts on the larger models, depending on how much you want to spend and save, however like the OctoInkjet inks you may have to generate a profile for some of these inks also..

Currently I'm refilling my PGI-72 carts with a mixture of inks from Octoinkjet and OEM extracted from large Canon carts of the PFI series. I use a Color Munki to make my own profiles but, if you're not after the ultimate color accuracy, just tunning the color settings in the Pro-10 driver will serve you well enough.
