That’s a real pity, I am sorry for your great loss...
No problem, these printer where bought to be used.
I've set one of the broken ones in service mode and saved the eeprom.
In fact this printer (I bought in 2011 as a backup) printed 1700 pages in it's whole life.
From observing other printers I acquired this is a decent average for a home printer.
Let's say €70 purchase that makes 4ct/page for the printer.
My first MX7600 was about €370 but it lasted 20.000 pages, that's less than 2ct/page for the printer (my second was €10 + €110 for a new printhead, lost the count but at least 6000, that's also 2ct/page until now).
Considering the paper (1ct/A4, 10ct 10x15 photo) and as major cost the ink, from the view of the printer manufacturers this is very acceptable.
Given the very low ink cost when refilling, I see no reason to complain.
On average I paid as much as other printer users, but I enjoyed printing as much as I wanted .
