I’ve been very bad and hadn’t printed anything from my 3880 in over 4 months. It just sat there with OEM ink from early summer to late fall with without even being plugged in.

Last week I finally plugged it in and ran a nozzle check: All clear!

This thing was a thrift store find from over a year ago. Even though PK had drained completely dry due to the faulty ink switch, all nozzles were firing. Me thinks Epson piezoelectric printheads can take a bit more than people give them credit for. ;)

The 3800/3880 were great for longevity and very little clogging habits. My first one survived 8 years before I replaced it with another 3880. Now, the 4800/4880, were another story, not good unless you needed to print LOTS everyday :)
