i knew i'd catch some good natured grief for my printer hoarding addiction.

been refilling for nearly 14 years now, ever since i luckily stumbled onto this forum.

even taught my daughter how to refill, she has been refilling for 10+ years, her friends now come over to her house to print.

new 870 is up and running, the WIFI config always stumps me at first, but finally got it.

Up and running quick. Nice!

For those not familiar, and those of us who are and want an update, could you please post your current refill numbers? :pop

PS What is your decision on ink - new or old? :fl

decided to go with new ink, best to invest back into a process that has treated me well. that way i'll eliminate one factor that could cause a problem.

current cartridge refill count is 1,866 refills over 14 years, some individual cartridges have been refilled over 100 times before they need to be replaced.

i use the German "Durchstich" refill method with squeeze bottles, single set of ink carts. when one cart need to be refilled i pull them all, reset and top/fill all at once. also set printer to quiet mode, prints slower/quieter and possibly generates less heat.

great forum, great shared information and great members.

Let that sink in campers. Wow!

Muhammad Ali was the greatest of all time boxer - and he would tell you that.

Joey Chestnut is the greatest of all time hot dog eater - 76 dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

jimbo123 is the greatest of all time personal inkjet refiller. :thumbsup

wow, to be mentioned w joey chestnut, you made my day.

quick update, new MX870 w new print head is working fine. i tried soaking the old print head, then tried it in old MX870, got same B200 error.

i decided to throw caution to the wind and try the new print head in the old MX870. nozzle check was perfect, so old print head was the culprit. the old MX870 is fine and will be put back in the printer rotation.

my refill success is due to this forum's members who willingly shared and continue to share their techniques. for that i thank you.
