;Is what i need. im in the market for a new printer setup from scratch. i plan on doing tons of b/w printing for archiving online materials for reasearch purposes as i develop music and writing projects im working on. realistically; i might set the thing to to print three hundred b/w pages today... then leave it untouched for three or four days. but i can print a page a day no problem just because i know thats a nono... just being realistic. In summation id really know which setup youve found to be rock solid relyable, and moderatly fast and accurate, and most economically; inexpensive... with nothing more than rudimentary color printing capabilities required, and im impartial to either ciss or cartrage refills... although id really like it to be ciss kuz itz kewlzville...

thinking more along the lines of an epson with a dip tube ciss, just wanted feedback from someone who has a system that works really well for them. Do you have any specific lazer ideas?

Laser printers are easy to find, and opinions are easy to find. So go do the research, and if you have a question, ask on the laser forum. Sounds like you don't need color at all, but if you do, there are some inexpensive color laser printers too. Laser printers are inherently much easier to live with than inkjets.

Or get an Artisan 50 with CIS, if that's what you want. There are companies that sell those and similar, all set up with CIS.

If you only need B&W/text, by all means I agree, a Laser printer is cheaper per page, much more reliable, and the printouts are totally waterproof.

+1 to ThrillaMozilla's advice. Get a B/W laser printer, make sure its easily refillable or that low cost toner/drum cartridges are easily available and for your rudimentary color needs get a cheap inkjet multifunctional.

An Epson Workforce 30 works really well with a CISS. Black and white prints are very fast. The only thing is CISS systems tend to be set up for dye inks only. So if you need waterproof and long term permanent prints, you'd need to get a pigment CISS which is more expensive and more finicky to set up and maintain. They tend to clog a lot more.
