With the CLi8 cartridges, if there is any doubt about loss of contact between sponge and outlet, a couple of sharp taps on the bench, will cure the problem, but make sure the cartridge is sealed before you do it!:)

After (top) refilling I cover the refill hole with my finger and hold the cartridge over the kitchen sink. Then I remove my finger and check how fast the cartridge drips. Usually it varies between once per half second and once per second. If it takes longer I set the cartridge aside for purging.

If you uncover the refill hole with the orange clip not attached to the bottom of the cartridge then the ink should pour out of the outlet hole till the reservoir is completely empty.

Stand the cartridge over a small bowl before attempting this to prevent wasting any of the ink; it’s cheap but not enough to pour it down the sink..
