Taught it was time to try some 3D prints..

I was running low of filament because I haven’t bought some in ages , but I managed to find enough left over to make up this little golden bird box, I left it to print overnight (13 hours) and it came out great.

At this time of year I figured a new bird house wouldn’t go astray… Now all I need is a new resident..

It’s not as easy to get good quality filament lately with all the restrictions and the like going on around the world, so I’ll have to order some from 123ink.ie (expensive) hoping there not going out of business like 123inkt.nl, ordering anything from the UK is an absolute joke since Brexit.
P.S. Notice I’ve gone back to using the blue magnetic mat on this printer..

Another success...

I had a small leak in one of my toilet cisterns, and tried twice to repair it with little success, so I went and bought all new parts for it and when installing these new parts they were nowhere near as good a quality and didn’t fit that great either.

I was annoyed at myself for changing the pieces because had I have known beforehand I probably could have spent a couple of days making new 3D parts, so my other half suggested.. Why don’t I just improve the existing parts myself.

So I did and I’m more happy with the cistern now that I’ve added my own parts and make it better… Once a 3D geek !

Did you use PLA ?.. PETG would be better for this. More flexible and less britle than PLA, therefore I expect the part would last longer.

No I always use PLA, the last thing I’m worried about is the part lasting longer, I haven’t lost any parts because of brittleness, and if I ever do, I’ll just print the part again, it’s like fading with 3rd party inks, but I’ve had no reprints so far..

P.S. this part will hardly ever see daylight.. And if it breaks then I’ll hear the water flowing again..
