Hello, today i start printing 3 pages with i9950 printer. Glossy photo paper, first came out fine, a second and third have stripes and lines, then i done nozzle check and i see Photo cyan not good, only half was printend, i do couple of print head clean and one deep nothing, always the same, first half of pc ln the nozzle check doesn't print. I pull out head clean with hot water, with 96%alcohol and ajax with ammonia, nothing help. So question is the printer head died? I put it also in one spare i9950 printer, same thing. Sadly the exactly half of one or more nozzle test stripes missing or being lighter than the other half is a sign of electronic print head failure. Only a new print head might help, but there is a risk that the defective print head has damaged the logic board. A logic board damaged this way can damage a new print head. So replacing the print head is a gamble, and I think a new print head for this old printer is impossible to find. So sadly I think the printer is a total loss.

I have two printers i9950, as i sad on another have same problem, so i would like to gamble and buy new one, only if you have advice or recommendation for buying new printer and color system with same or better quality, i don't know really what is new and how much expensive is new inks for new printer.
So i must calculate, because i have many many original inks for i9950.

I cannot tell if the print head from Ebay is OK. Some claimed to be new OEM print heads sold on Ebay have been used and sometimes defective print heads that have been cleaned to look like new and repackaged in counterfeit foil bags and cardboard boxes. These print heads often come from China. Could the print head be one of these Chinese ones even if it is located in Germany?

A modern replacement for the i99950 could be the Pro 100, but that is expensive here in Europe.

I have an i9950 myself and enjoy been able to print without chips, but as @PeterBJ said there are no heads left available anymore, yes you could spend the money on the one on EBay, but you can guarantee that it’s a refurbished head and not a new one, it may work but mostly they don’t.

I gave my last spare head to @Redbrickman so I know how scarce they are.. The only machine that would replace your i9950 is the Pro 100, you could still use your inks but you’d have a big colour change so I wouldn’t recommended it, unless you know what your doing..

Ok. I just buy "new" printhead, this is second time i buying new head, last one I bought is this that is half dead (PM nozzle issue.) it is old 6 years.
I really trust that new head will be orginal and Ok on another i9950. I will still use the broken one head for printing on plain paper....
Many thanks for help and recommendations, when new head come, i will post pictures of packing and scan of service print, nozzle check..
