Today I checked my ink bottles with Hobbicolors UW-8 ink and discovered a rather strange smell from my cyan ink.
Hobbicolors ink has a rather neutral smell compared to other refill inks which relies heavily on ethylene glycol and isopropano, giving it a pungent smell.

Strangely enough my cyan ink has a faint ammonia smell: is this normal or is my cyan ink deteriorating ? Or does this colour has a different smell than all the others ?

Mine doesn't. I keep mine in the original shipping box, in a dry location.

I just got the new UW8 ink from Hobbicolors. I opened the yellow (to refill) and noticed no unusual odor. Just checked the cyan...same smell, a faint inky smell, but no ammonia smell at all.

Check with Hobbicolors. I'm sure Dave will discuss it with you, maybe even offer to exchange it for another bottle. He's always provided great customer sevice for me.
