Are you sure you didn't use the plans for a flower pot?

Whatever it is going to be It does look strong. :)

(Where's the feckin Smilie button?!)

This piece is going to have to take most of the pressure during heavy wind conditions, so I’ve made it as strong as it can be with 80% fill and a bit larger in diameter, and I’m also adding in some Evo Stik just to be sure.. :) :)

Have you considered rebar? ;)

Second Third time around is the charm! :fl

(I really dislike where the Smilie button was moved to in the toolbar)

For UV protection some model bulders put a coat of water based Polyurethane varnish on the parts.

Here’s the latest on the Mark 4 lamp standard..

It’s progressing slowly and I’m just about finished rebuilding the centre column, except for a few hiccups. My new CR-10 has completed the lamp top that will hold the lanterns arms but my Auld CR-10 (My Baby) failed to finish printing the lid of the top section Pics above..

It’s back having some heat over run issues that I had a while ago, it’ not that easy to diagnose, but with the help of @Redbrickman (Again) I reckon I’ll get there, it’s trial and error and once the problem is found it’s easy fixable.. A second 3D printer is essential in times like these or a third in my case..

P.S. Filament supplies are back to normal again after the upheaval of Brexit, I’m now using filament from Holland..:)

My good old CR-10 is back in business, I tested out some of the wiring and couldn’t find anything wrong, so I powered her up and left her on the PLA heating position for an hour, and she passed with flying colours so I cranked her up and printed another piece for my lamps.. (8 hour print) :weee

A day came when the weather was calm, sunny and dry..:weee

I was able to install the new lamp standard yesterday and it only took 90 minutes to complete, I’ve been waiting a couple of weeks to get the lamp standard up and installed in it's rightful place without getting my ass blown off or soaked to the Feckin skin.

The new mark lV model is a little different looking than previous models but it’s up and it give off the same amount of light, so who cares a Feck, beggars can’t be choosers, and after a while it will begin to look the very same as the other ones..
---------------------
Continued..

We had one hell of a night last night, with gale force winds and rain and the lamp was still standing this morning, not a bother on it, so it past the first test and will face many more that's for sure, but if it holds out for a year or more I’ll be over the moon and De-Lighted… Accomplishment never come easy..

P.S. I’ve already started a whole new design on the computer.. Just in case…:hide :sick
Long live the queen...:love:lol:
