I just wonder - how do You manage this 3D-printings.

Are using a set of two cameras on a special bracket and synchronize them?
What 3D-software are You then using to work with the two photos to manage to do a 3D-model of for an example a landscape. Are the plastic wires in 9 colors and mixed and what are the media You are printing on. Cardboard? Does color stand out as well?

Do they look better and give better depths than a 2-D printing from a 3880.

Of cause I'm very interested and my questions are serious!:\:old

:frow - You met my irony excellent!
However when such a printer is out - I'll buy one.

I often smile when people say a DSLR-lens have 3D-effect.
They never can! They just can render 2D in different ways.

Hey man - I buy things ready made.
If I need a toilet handle, I buy it - I can afford.
Those others who buy a 3D-printer to DIY - must have serious trouble!
Of cause not, if You call it "art" or "religion".

And yes, not to forget, I'm over eleven years old.:plbb

LOL! I love your sense of humor, but you actually can print a 3D photo in some ways. :)

One method uses a traditional printer with interleaved columns of pixels and a lenticular covering that reflects alternate columns to a different eye if you view it from the correct distance. Of course, this will drastically reduce the print resolution but it works for eye-catching product packaging and such.

3D printers can print “lithophanes” that have a 3D relief of the image on the surface. People like to print these thin enough for light to shine through from the back and the monochrome image detail is formed from the varying thickness of the plastic. The source image would be 2D but the result is a 3D relief. It might be possible to programmatically analyze a 3D photograph to determine depth of certain elements and generate a lithophane with more accurate depth and features.
