Solid deposits in my refillable cartridges - Stylus Pro 7600

Greetings Earthlings,
I recently rescued an abandoned Epson Stylus Pro 7600 via trade for a bottle of Scotch. The nice man included his refillable cartridges, but they have some solid ink deposits in them.

What sort of solution can I use to break down/empty the cartridges? Is there any hope for them?

Can I inject the classic isopro/propylene glycol/distilled water solution to break things down?

Worth trying your classic cleaning solution, however you will almost certainly need to also replace the ink dampers and flush all the ink lines as well.

Oh, I should have added, "before turning the printer on", turning on will start a cleaning process and given the state of the ink it will most likely plug up the print head nozzles.

I'm afraid it may not look much different in the tubes to the printhead and in the dampers there. That would require replacement of these dampers and flushing of the ink lines. I'm not aware of any solvent to dissolve dried up pigment plaques.

I use a solution of 10 parts steam distilled or filtered water, 1 part nonsudsing clear household ammonia, and 1 part 99% isopropyl alcohol. It seems to dissolve even dried pigmented ink, although I've never had to remove quite that much!

I don't think it dried, I think it settled like silt in a river. When using pigmented inks in unmoving tanks, I've made it a practice to remove them once in a while and give them a bit of a sloshing around to keep things mixed.
