First of all Hello everyone, I don't have know-hows about printers that much but I have been struggling with a Clogged printer. I don't know what is a "printer head." I have a HP officeJet 5610 All-in-one and I left my printer idle for a month and now my college is starting and I am struggling with it. I have refilled the cartridges (black one is working fine ) but the color cartridge is giving me streaks.
I wish i could get a printer that is clog-free I doubt if it exists. Is there any cartridge that acts as a fuel tank... just fill it up with ink and ready to go...

The "printer head", or more commonly "print head" is where the nozzles and electronic circuits are that squirt the ink through tiny nozzles onto the paper.

The print head in your printer is built into the cartridges. All you have to do is buy a new (or refurbished at half the price) color cartridge and your streaking problem will be gone.

Yes, there are many printers that do not have the print head built into the cartridges but instead have separate ink tanks for each color that set into the print head. These can be easily refilled but you must also get a chip resetter because the manufacturers of these cartridges don't want you to refill--they want you to pay very high prices for very small amounts of ink.

After couple of days, I printed again with Color, Its printing satisfactory but still have streaks. So is there a fix for it or I have to buy a new cartridge. How to prevent clogging in future? Only Magenta is giving me streaks>

The best way to prevent clogging in the future is to print a nozzle check (if your printer has that feature) at least once a week, preferably once a day. The advantage of a nozzle check is that it guarantees that every nozzle is used and it wastes the minimum amount of ink. Without a nozzle check, you should print something in color and something in black that hopefully will exercise all the nozzles.

If you otherwise don't use your printer very often (a couple times a month), it probably would make sense to just get a replacement color cartridge. Otherwise, you will waste a lot of time trying to repair the printer which I wouldn't continue to do. I did start down that path many years ago but learned about the advantages of Canon printers. It's not as easy a decision now because Canon is making it more difficult to refill their new printers.
