Same type of Canon ink for different Canon printers - or not?

Hi all !

Is it possible to use the ink for e.g. Canon G3000 series printer and fill cartridges for a Pixma ip 8750 printer? The G3000 series uses GI-590<-> ink which is less expensive than Pixma CLI-xxx ink.

There is no reason why not, go for it..

I would try the GI53 of the new photo tank printer which has in addition a grey for the dye inks and the GI-590 for the pigmented black.

The GI-590 are not only an incomplete set of colors needed but also inferior archival capability compared to the inks used by the IP8750.

Yes, you can use the Dye-based CYM inks and the Pigment Black ink of the GI-590 inkset, but what to do about the Dye-based Black and Grey?

Consider the GI-23 inkset (or whatever the equivalent model number in your country) that has all the Dye-based ink colors the IP8750 requires and uses ChromaLife ink set. It's not the ChromaLife+ used in the IP8750 but it's better than the GI-590 non-ChromaLife.

PS You do not need the GI-23 Red ink, so buying a multipack would be a waste.

Hi, I am back, still alive! Sorry for my very late feedback.

My question was to refill the ink tanks for the PIMXA printer IP8750 with bottle ink of same quality (ChromaLife) or almost the same.

IP8750 is using Y, M, C,GY, BK dye ink and PBK pigment black and ChromeLife100+ system.

Can I replace YMCGYBK with GI-53 (GI-23 seems not to be found i Sweden) wich has all the dye colors? But what to do with pigment black?

Canon is using different names for the inks in different business regions - GI53 inks are the bottled Chromalife inks for the G550/650 printers in Western Europe.
There is a separate series of Megatanks printers running with pigment inks - with the GI56 inks for the GX-4050 - 5050....... printer models.
