Refilling Cannon cartridge using their ink-tank bottles

Hello there,this is my first post here so l looking forward to meeting you all.

I'm pretty new to refilling so i never bothered much about ink quality but now i was about to get some refillable cartridges for my Pixma TS6140 but i had hard time deciding on ink bottles to buy.
Normally i would grab a random one from aliexpress but this time i decided to do researching about bigger ink companies like OCP and why they are more popular so turns out there are many qualities of ink.
I came to this site on some OCP vs (company) ink quality post and i found this image on top of site

It came to my mind, wouldn't it better to use those Canon inktank bottles(GL-490) on my canon inkjet printer cartridges, so i wanted to know from you all if it would be better to grab some chinese ink from aliexpress or using these canon ink-tank ink bottles(far more easily available here) which are OEM and should be better, no?
I tried reverse searching that image for answer but couldn't find

I guess the cartridges you want to refill are those from the Canon TS6140?

I have tried refilling Canon cartridges with these bottled Canon inks. Getting Canon OEM inks at the price of normal refill inks seemed like a bargain. But the Canon bottled inks are not the same quality as the inks used in the cartridges and the colour strength is different. See this for adjusting the colour in the driver settings.

There is one more problem. Newer Canon cartridges, at least those of the PGI-x50/CLI-x51 generation seem to use black inks with special additives to improve print head cooling to prevent nozzle damage. Maybe these print heads are more fragile than previous versions? When using normal refill inks, damage is often seen to both the pigment black and photo black nozzles. For the pigment nozzles the damage shows as double vertical lines at part of the nozzles, and for the photo black nozzles is shows as fuzziness.

Apart from problems with colour match and no photo black available i think the inks might not be any better than other refill inks to avoid print head damage. Image Specialists' inks have worked well for me with Canon cartridge generations BCI-3e/6, PGI-5/CLI-8, PGI-x20/CLI-x21 and PGI-x25/CLI-x26. I have also used these inks in an MG5550 that uses the PGI-550/CLI-551 cartridges and have had damage of the photo black nozzles.

Does anybody have a recommendation for refill inks or compatible cartridges for the Canon TS6140? The cartridges are the PGI-x80/CLI-x81 generation.

Thanks for clarification,i thought the same but it seems it isnt better.
My current plan seems to getting some PZK PGI-450/451 cartridges and changing their chip to my used prignal chip from original cartridges that came with printer.Currently trying to find the best ink i can get from amazon or aliexpress .

I have already used a compatible ink cartridge from aliexpress on the PGBK slot so now i am worried

Long thread, conclusion: canon bottled ink is as good as any 3rd party ink, not better, and not as good as canon cartridges. And it is C-M-Y only, no K (photo black).

Better choice: HP bottled ink, see [ not: latest postings in the thread.]

This is exactly what ended up having to my printer. The PGBK ended up getting clogged.
Although for something that lasted 4 years and 5k pages printed, I'd say it was a good run. Ended up getting a replacement printhead from china on the cheap and so far working great

G53 ecotank bottles is the way to go for Chromalife 100+ faderesistance. Other Canon ecotank dye inks are much worse and some of them are hardly better than "good" quality aftermarket inks.

What is your issue with photo black compatibility ? Consider a Canon printhead as a consumable, it's not the page count which is relevant but the number of ink shots - the cumulative amount of ink which passed the nozzles.

I currently have no issues with photoblack(or a working printer that uses one) but im curious about the discussion of x51 series of printers being more susceptible to damage in the photo black and pigment black channels than the earlier x21 printers and its' third party inksets.

I'm not aware of any serious test testing of the actual usage time until failure or other criteria e.g. pattern distortion of the black channel patterns of the nozzle check prints of Canon printheads - of various generations and model types - with OEM vs. 3rd party inks.
