Rod thanks for the detailed pics. The gap between the two sets of nozzle groups certainly looks wider to my eyes than the one you show. I would think then it is likely a new head design that expels less heat.

My apologies to readers. It looks like I had confused myself before this. I looked at the specs on the newer printers more carefully this time. The Pro-100 now sports a fixed droplet size of 3pl. The Pro9000MkII used 2pl. Same story for the Pro-10 which now uses 4pl and the Pro9500 used 3pl.
Apparently in flipping back and forth in reviewing the specs. I had flipped from the Pro-100 towards the Pro9500 and saw the 3pl.
So both new printers sport new heads with larger droplet sizes than the outgoing printers.
