Wayne,

I am just curious so I hope I am not prying to ask...but is there any reason why you have decided against refilling carts and want to go for the CISS? I am just about to purchase myself and leaning toward refill carts so I am interested to know why your preference is for the CISS.

Wayne,

It is my understanding that you can see enough of the innards of the refillable carts to tell. Plus the chip on the side of the carts report the ink level to the printer. So the user immediately goes to the ink cart that is reporting low ink to the printer.

See through dampers are really easy to keep track of with a small flashlight. And the flip top type are very simple to fill and no inky fingers unless you get really careless. I have flip top dampers in two printers that take the same ink formula so I often refill them all at the same time.
Of course the best part is instead of 18 to 20 dollars per cartridge it's pennies.

All of them! LOL
It all depends on how mouch printing you do. BUT!!! Before you go deciding on whether to get refillables or a CIS I will tell you that the T054 carts your R800 uses are refillables by getting some special one way refilling valves from http://www.rjettek.com/Inkjet-Supplies/Epson-Replacement-Valve-Plugs-20pk.html

Watch my video to see how to do it.
You cannot compare refillables to refilled OEM carts. The OEM will run circles around them.

If you want the simples sistem then get the one from Inkjetcarts which are the type that OutOFtheinkwell is crazy about.
They are refillable while installed in the printer and even when only one color is declared as empty, you refill all of them and reset all the positions and not just the one that was empty.

Most CISS will not permit you to run the printer with the lid down. The most difficult part of the set up is getting the ink ribbon adjusted just right. Resetting can be of the RESET ALL TO FULL or RESET ONE POSITION AT A TIME.
