re MP830, can't seem to COPY and get both collated and 2 sided working

using a canon MP830, i can't seem to COPY and get both collated and 2 sided copies to work at the same time

i can get either one individually but not both for same

probably something simple i am missing

Could it be software/driver corruption, ie time to uninstall and reinstall? Did you recently upgrade your operating system and need updated drivers?

I duplex copy using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) via MP Navigator. The pages are collated automatically.

What procedure are you using to duplex copy?

Use the ADF and try it through the MP Navigator software. You want to use Batch Scanning and specify a Duplex document type for the printer to copy both sides of the page. The copied documents will collate automatically.

Jimbo, tell them your printer is not hooked up to a computer.

A reasonable test of printer integrity would be to try duplexing from the ADF using MP Navigator. Maybe there is a problem stemming from the use of the "Copy" button.

Another way of approaching this is whether you have:

1) Been able to do this (these) functions previously?

2) Exactly what is it you are doing, ie the progression of button pushes and selections you make in attempting this function?

3) Anything unusual/different occuring during the process besides no duplexing or collating resulting?

never been able to do both collated and duplex printing at the same time, nothing new or changed recently.

MP830 driver V1.14
MP Navigator V2.2

when using buttons on MP830, seems to allow only collated or duplex, not both at same time. tried using Navigator, when using duplex, could not find any collated option and the collated setting i have set up in my printing preferences did not work

if someone who has an MP830, can test the following out, that would be great

- take 2 pieces of paper
- first page write 1 on front, 2 on back
- second page, write 3 on front, 4 on back
- try to make 2 collated copies using duplex option

would like to get it to work only using buttons on MP830, but at this point would take MP Navigator solution

might be me....

So we are on the same page... what do mean by "collated"?

What are your expected results from your test?

lets say i have a 5 page document that i need 3 copies. below is what i am able to do.

A. single sided document the pages are printed/collated: pages 1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5 (as expected)

B. double sided document the pages are printed/collated: pages 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5 (not as expected)


would like to get the double sided copies in the first order, then i just need to staple and i'm done
