4 ounces is about 118 mls

each CLI8 has an approx capacity of 13 mls, so assuming completely empty CLI8s,

so can get about 9 CLI8 refills out of 4 ounces of ink

i ballpark that my avg cost per refill is just under $1 per refill

one thing i have noticed and i am referring to the CLI-8 cartridges only because they are totally clear, when the software indicates the ink level is empty and the reservior is empty, the sponge area is still about 30% full i think i am putting about 10mls into the reservior, i will pay more attention on my next fill to see how much is actually is being put in

I'm usually the type that would track these kinds of things (a little OCD), but the fact that refilling is so gosh darn easy with the German method, I just fill it and forget it.

Jimbo123, it should take less than 10 ml maybe 7 - 8 ml to refill a CLI-8. It will take 13 ml only when the CLI-8 is bone dry. When you refill the next time it doesn't take more than 10 ml to refill. Great numbers , Jimbo.

agreed, 10 ml is a good number to use if the sponge side is still holding ink.

my under a $1 per refill takes into account all supplies/costs: bulk ink, 4oz squeeze bottles, needles, needle caps, resetter, etc.

i've been using squeeze bottles for many years, so much quicker and easier than syringes. see thread below for info, pics and video.

on a good day... can refill and reset my 5 ink carts in under 5 min

Jimbo, you have kept an excellent record of your refilling numbers. It is a solid success example of refilling with compatible inks. $1 per refill is what I achieve too. Way to go, Jimbo123.

Gosh, someone said 9 out of 10 cloggings were caused by Hobbicolors ink. Totally nonsense. I am going to order Hobbicolors ink for my Canon printers. I already used Hobbicolors ink for my Epson R300 and RX500. Completely happy with it. I will try squeeze bottles. Did you get them from howardelectronics.com? It is the only shop that sells squeeze bottles.

That is false. However, Howard Electronics is one recommended company to purchase squeeze bottles from.
